different styles and techniques to convey sadness, one of the styles within this poem is the use of
personification,

In both texts, Lament and Dreamers, the authors featured the ocean as a major motif to their narrative.
The main character of Lament did not travel to the ocean however spoke of a character named ‘Buck’ that is continuously going fishing, and during these ‘Buck has gone out fishing’ repetitions, multiple aspects of the ocean is mentioned, such as a boat, seagulls and waves. Each of these aspects are mentioned with a meaning behind each of them, leading to a very melancholic mood in those singular pieces of text.
While the main character of Lament does not travel to the ocean, the main character featured in Dreamers does travel to the beach to talk about the abandonment of her father. Rather than featuring multiple aspects of the ocean like Lament,

I really like your intent of using personification as I believe that it's a great technique to write about. However, I would like you to actually give examples and write about why the poet used personifications to make his poem good. Other than that, this paragraph is lit.
